Telecast’s Teleport meets Python II to create the ultimate Hybrid SDI/HD-SDI and CWDM
transport, the Telethon.
On the Teleport side it can turn any optical signal into CWDM (coarse wavelength division
mulitplexer) up to 2.5Gbps on each channel, mux 8 digital signals on one fibre (4 each way)
and optically repeat signals - extending the range of the kit.
On the Python side you get up to 8 channels per 1RU chassis, wide range of digital formats
and from 19.4Mbps to 1.5Gbps transport. It is compatible with digital TV standards SMPTE 292M
& 259M, handles DVB/ASI signals and has BNC input/output.
The true value of Telethon comes from its ability to accept an optical signal and re-transmit
it on a CWDM wavelength, so wheather your using a new SHED or a 10 year old adder the Telethon gives
you fresh optical budget.
The Telethon is the latest tool to reduce the cost and complexity of moving large number
of wideband signals through fixed or mobile infrastructures.

Python II – Multi–channel Fibre Optic HDTV/SDTV System
The Python II series of transmitters and receivers addresses the fast growing business of
digital television production, especially HDTV. Low profile Python units can accommodate up to
16 SDI signals, all the way from 19.4 Mbps all the way to 1.5 Gbps uncompressed HD/SDI. Python
II units are available in channel counts of 8 or 16 one way, or as bi–directional
transceivers with 8 channels of video in both directions. Pythons are also interoperable with
other Telecast SDI products, such as Vipers and Mamba. Consult us for multiplexed Pythons,
with 8 channels per fiber.

Diamond Back II – 8–Channel Fibre Optic
Video/Audio Multiplexer
The DiamondBack II multiplexes 8 broadcast quality NTSC/PAL/SECAM video channels onto
one fiber/wavelength. It also has an AUX port that can simultaneously accommodate up to 16
audio channels (from an Adder coax port). Dual fiber outputs are available for optical
redundancy and/or split feeds. Features include: front panel monitoring of any video channel,
loop–thru video inputs and dual video outputs. CWDM wavelengths available for high
capacity transmission.
